From late June through September the district festivals stack up, and the programme is almost entirely free.
Festa Major de Gràcia
One week in August when neighbours decorate entire streets and bands play free in every square until very late indeed.

Gràcia's rival, two weeks later on the other side of the city: more decorated streets, more free stages, the same joyful chaos.
La Mercè
The city's own festival in late September: four days of concerts, human towers, fire runs and a closing fireworks display, all open to everyone.
